WEEK 9 season begins. We have the guys and girls possibly to place or win state this year. Summer training is the secret ingredient to state titles and winning.

2009 Colorado Academy Cross Country

Welcome to Colorado Academy's cross country team. I'm Coach Tracy Peterson and this will be my third year as the varsity coach at CA. My plans for the new season are to put together a successful season. My number one goal is always to take the team to state and have fun.

Our last two seasons have been very successful. The boy’s team qualified for state for the first time in school history in 2007, and, last year, they were league champions, regional runner-up and finished third in state. Our girl’s team is looking stronger than ever this year! With the strength of our current members and the potential of the incoming freshman, we have the potential to be state contenders this season.

To continue to be the best we can be, I provide a summer training program in June. This is where our success begins. I provide training for every level, from beginner to state champion.  Summer training isn't difficult, it's just a matter of showing up, working hard, and having lots of fun (including “Slurpees,” Ice Cream and swimming!). Training occurs on trails around Morrison and Evergreen, places we run during the regular season.

Parents, I always appreciate your help during the season, and hope I can count on you to continue taking pictures and helping out at meets with water, food, and timing.

Summer training begins on June 15th (the REGULAR season officially begins on August 17). Attached is a copy of our non-mandatory summer workout schedule. If you can attend, please meet at the Newton Athletic Center, Monday through Thursday at 5:30 p.m., Friday mornings at 8:00 a.m., or Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m.

I am very much looking forward to the upcoming season! Should you need to contact me this summer, please feel free to call or e-mail anytime.

Sincerely,
Coach Tracy Peterson
